Parlence Technology

Sorry, no this is not a blueprint on how to build Parlence but just to outline some of the philosophy and technical background with a dash of philosophy.

The Application

The base system is built with LAMP. It runs on Linux servers, the programming is PHP and JavaScript, usually JQuery and the database is MySQL.

This of course means the system is portable to most platforms and has been tested on WAMP and runs just as well.

When the editing and or translation has been done the resulting output is JavaScript and this is used as the interface to the browser to deliver the content/translation to the end user. Using JavaScript means that almost any web site and web delivery system can use Parlence.

Amazon S3

When developing the system we looked at providing redundancy for the resulting content that appears in your site and at the time we were developing a site for one of the worlds largest fun park owners and set much of the Flash content on their system up on Amazon\'s S3 content delivery system Well it worked and is cheap and is flexible and has high redundancy so that\\\'s where Parlence content is stored.

Your Content

Is your content. At any time you can access your content and dump it. There are two formats to this. The raw JavaScript files and an XML MySQL dump. So the investment in time and translation is always there.
